DO WE NEED TO SAVE OUR CULTURE?

In the time Malay used Pendet (traditional dance from Bali) to promote their tourism. It made Indonesian infuriation them. Did you know ‘why?’ It because we thought they have stolen our culture.
Malay argued as nation that have Malaya ancestry, they have the right for Malaya culture’s descent. In earlier, it was no result after having protest and anger from us and we also forgot it and back to our routines.

Pendet’s case became bad presume for Indonesia in other countries. Perhaps, it was true ‘what people said’ that Indonesia has adi luhung past of culture but no future. So Malay asked us to claim homeland as our culture heir. Indonesian can speak only but they effordless to take care and save and also be proud of their own origin.

As we know that Malay had already made patent of angklung (bamboo Sundanese traditional) as their culture. So, it’s only about a time, sooner or later, Pendet can be claimed and patented if there is no counter from Indonesia.

So, as the young generation, “what is your opinion about the Malay’s claims toward our cultures as theirs?” What should you do toward these claims? What should you do to save our traditional culture?
